Albert Goad, age 75, of Strunk, Kentucky, formerly of Morgan County, Tennessee, died at his home Thursday. April 5, 2012 with family and friends by his side.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 9 at 8:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Landon Sexton, , Pastor Bobby Stewart and Pastor Michael Johnson officiating. Visiting will be Monday from 5:00 p.m. until funeral time. Burial will be at the Pine Knot Cemetery on Tuesday at 1100 a.m. Serving as pall bearers will be Brian and Stacey Goad, Kirk Shoopman, Ryan and Billy Hunter and Seth Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Gilreath, Randy Maxwell and Buck Gilreath.

Albert was born February 12, 1937, in Pilot Mountain, Tennessee to Jim and Delia (Rich) Goad. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers Alvin, James and Howard Goad; sisters Hazel Taylor, Maxie Shoopman and Helen Cooney, seven nephews and two nieces.

He is survived by his wife Bessie (Hatfield) Goad of Strunk, Kentucky whom he married July 18, 1959; sons Brian (Anna) Goad of Pine Knot, and Stacey (Carolyn) Goad of Peoria, Arizona; daughter Teressa Jacobson of Everett, Washington; four grandchildren: Emily, Libby, Owen and Elliott Goad of Peoria, Arizona; sisters Macel (Hillard) Lewallen of Wartburg, Tennessee, and Reba Catron of Harriman, Tennessee; brothers Berry (June) Goad of Blue Lake, California, and Robert (Patricia) Goad of Lancing, Tennessee; Lora Mae Goad of Lancing; many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces; many friends and relatives and two special friends Marilou Mayer and Mrs. Yvonne Crume.

Albert had worked as a sawyer in various sawmills throughout the state of California for 29 years. He was a member of the Redemption Baptist church in Pilot Mountain, Tennessee. He was a faithful Christian, a devoted father, loving husband and he cherished his grandchildren. His hobbies were woodworking, farming and fishing.
