Alene Trammell

Alene Trammell, age 68, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, at her home in Strunk, Kentucky, with her family by her side.

Born November 10, 1955, om Whitley City, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Bill J. And Dorothy Whalen-Stephens. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers; Jack Stephens, Earl Whalen, Finley Whalen, Jim Whalen, Donald Whalen, Ray Whalen and infant Thurman Whalen, and sisters Alma Sue Koger and infant Sybill Ann Stephens.

 She is survived by her husband Roy Lee Trammell, son Richard Trammell (Becky) of Strunk, three daughters; Charlena Dishman (Danny) of Strunk, Becky Stephens (Kevin) of Strunk, and Rena Stephens Watson (James “Willie”) of Whitley City, sister; Jean Jeffers (Troy), of Oneida, TN., nine grandchildren; James Dishman, Makayla Trammell, Luke Trammell, Elly Stephens, Jimmy Stephens, Gabrielle Bryant, Haley Watson, Joseph Stephens, and Erin Stephens. There is one great grandchild; Maeci Stephens.

Alene retired from the McCreary County Schools as a school bus driver and went to work for the Oneida School System. She was a member of the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church and loved attending church and singing, listening to gospel music and spending time with family. She enjoyed driving a bus and working and took pleasure in shopping.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2024, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Perry, Bro. Malachi Barnett and Bro. Harold Baird officiating. She will be laid to rest at the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 at the funeral home.
