Allie Irene Duncan

Allie Irene Duncan, age 75, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021, at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital.

 She was born February 7, 1946, in the Mine 18 community of Stearns, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Lena Irene Stevens.  Besides her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Billy Joe Duncan.

Surviving family include a daughter, Lana Stanley (and Douglas) of Oneida, Tennessee, a son Joe Duncan (and Laura) of Revelo, Kentucky, five grandchildren: Crystle Duncan, Jessica Stanley, Brittany Lowe (and Randy), Ashely Sargle and Rashiede Stanley.  There are four great-grandchildren: Ava Barnes, Paizleigh Lowe, Emma Barnes, and Delanie Lowe.  She has a special daughter Jennifer Cooper and her baby, Keeton, and a special son, Levi, as well as a special friend: Charlotte Sumner.

Irene had worked as a seamstress at McCreary Manufacturing (shirt factory) and was a member of the Dixie Freedom Baptist Church.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and working with flowers.  She loved singing in church and had been since she was a child.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Stanley and Bro. Randy Lowe officiating.  She will be laid to rest at the Stevens-Foster Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday, April 5, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The family of Ms. Irene thanks all for adhering to the CDC guidelines by wearing masks while attending services.
