AMON H. JEFFERS

Amon H. Jeffers passed away Monday, November 19, 2012, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. He had attained the age of 79 years, 11 months and 18 days.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 8p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Duncan and Rev. Harvey Logan officiating. Burial will be at the Jesse Privett Cemetery Friday morning at 11:00. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6 a€" 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Winona, Tennessee, on December 1, 1932, he was the son of the late Richard Lee and Sally Ann (Hamlin) Jeffers. He is also preceded in death by two wives Ethel (Chambers) Jeffers and Thelma Maycena (Edmons) Jeffers, two sisters Mabel Phillips and Marcel West, three brothers Crawford, Alfred, and Allardt Jeffers and two infant siblings.

He is survived by a daughter Mary Ann Brown (and Butch) of Pine Knot a sister Mary Jane Keys of Middleton, Ohio and a brother Aster Jeffers of Knoxville, Tennessee, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Mr. Jeffers had been a sawmill worker in his earlier days and was a member of the Macedonia Christian Church. He enjoyed going to church, singing and was quite good at playing the harmonica.
