Arnold Snyder

July 9, 1939 — April 24, 2021

Arnold Snyder age 81 of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at his home. He was born July 9, 1939 to the late William H. Snyder and Irene (Feasel) Snyder.

In addition to his parents, Arnold is preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Sadie Snyder; a grandson, Timothy Snyder II; brothers, Bill, Chester, and Percy Snyder; and sisters, Dorothy Hill, Pauline DeWalt, Donna Jean Saxton, and Betty Kerr. 

Surviving family include his children, Kathy Watters (and Roy) of Whitley City, Dorsey Synder (and Sandy) of Hernando, Florida, Tim Snyder (and Lois) of Whitley City, and Richard Snyder (and Pam) of Stearns; brothers, Willard "Woody" Snyder (and Betty) and Donald "Doc" Snyder; sister, Barbara Schaffer; 10 grandchildren, Jody, Amy, Latoya, Chad, Shelly, Bud, Misti, Rosa, Terrance, and Dakota; 29 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. 

Arnold was a Veteran of the United States Navy, having served his country for 9 years. He was a Deacon of the Bethel Baptist Church where he enjoyed teaching bible classes. Arnold also enjoyed helping others when he could and attending the organizations at the senior citizens center. In his own time, he enjoyed cooking, reading, and just caring for others. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Sexton officiating. Burial to follow in the Angel Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday after 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.  

Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
