ARVILLE RAY STEPHENS

Mr. Arville Stephens, age 70 passed away Friday, September 28, 2012, at his home in Parkers Lake, Kentucky.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2012, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Daniel Ridener officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Born May 23, 1942, in McCreary County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Crit and Grace (Miller) Stephens. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers; Harold, Jackie and Lamoine Stephens and two sisters; Bessie King and Mary Fay Pierce.

Surviving family include his wife Dallas Fay (Harding) Stephens of Parkers Lake whom he married September 23, 1960, and six children; Micky (and Melanie) Stephens of Pine Knot, James Stephens of McKinney, Kentucky, Vickie (and Dennis) Handy of Parkers Lake, Carol McAninch of Parkers Lake, Matthew (and Connie) Stephens of Pine Knot, and Shane(and Dawn) Stephens of Hustonville, Kentucky. Arville and Dallas had four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Surviving brothers and sisters are Don Stephens of Indianapolis, Ralph Stephens of Florida, Elsie Trammell of Eaton, Indiana, Annabelle Knapp of Cincinnati and Shirley Jasmine of Florida.

Arville had been a horse farmer having loved horses and animals of all kinds. He enjoyed basketball and was an avid UK fan.
