BARRY M. LAY

Barry M. Lay, age 60, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, October 7, 2011, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 10, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Moore and Rev. Jeremy Scott officiating.

Mr. Lay had worked at Big John's Foodette and other grocery businesses for many years. He worked at the Copeland Corporation in Sidney, Ohio in his younger years. He was a member of the Pleasant Rock United Baptist Church in Smithtown. His hobbies were model cars, fishing and riding bikes and mopeds when he was younger.

Born July 17, 1951, in Oneida, Tennessee, he was the son of Hobert and Virginia Murphy Lay. His mother Virginia Lay precedes him in death. His father Hobert Lay lives in Pine Knot. On October 14, 1974, Barry was united in marriage to Barbara Faye Worley. They had one son Shaun William Lay who lives in Pine Knot. Barry had two brothers Bryan (and Ruth) Lay of Dixon, Tennessee and Joey (and Dorothy) Lay of Pine Knot. He has a nephew J.J. and niece Tihanna.
