Ms. Bessie Anderson, age 69, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at her home in Winfield, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. William Collett and Bro. John Collett officiating. She will be laid to rest at the T. Chitwood Cemetery in Pine Knot. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 a€" 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bessie was a homemaker and a member of the Meadows Grove Baptist Church. She dearly loved people and called people on the phone on a daily basis. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and was a great cook. She loved music and puzzle books. She enjoyed watching baseball and basketball and was a big Cubs and UK fan.

Born in Jenson, Kentucky in Bell County on November 11, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Billy and Margaret (Hony) Collett. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Anderson who passed away April 22, 2000, three sisters Marie Valentine, Rosalee Carnes, Shirley Hensley and two infant siblings Gilbert and Martha Ellen Collett.

Surviving family include three sons; Timothy Anderson, Pine Knot, Michael Anderson, Pine Knot and Wendell Anderson, Chesapeake, VA, three daughters Sherry Stephens (and Moe), Winfield, Judy Anderson, Frankfort, and Donna King (and James) of Florence, KY. She has one surviving sister Imogene Valentine, LaGrange, KY and three brothers; William (and Louise) Collett, Boiling Springs, SC, John (and Janet) Collett, Crittenden, KY and Richard (and Kaye) Collett, Middlesboro, KY. She has 11 grandchildren; Craig, Nina, Heather, Jennifer, Ashley, Patience, Jared, Cody, Kenny, Alexis, and Jacob and 11 great grandchildren. Two very special people in her life were her granddaughter Heather Vaughn and her husband Tyler.
