Betty Musgrove Ellis age 90 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Sunday, January 19, 2024.
She was born in Strunk, Kentucky on March 3, 1934 to the late Allen King and Nora Elise (Strunk) King.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Musgrove; two infant children, Clyde Barry Musgrove and Rita Ann Musgrove; a granddaughter, Adriane Keith; two great-grandsons, Gavin Sexton and Landen Musgrove; and brothers & sisters, Clara Trammell, Pearl Ball, Blanche King, Kenneth King, Ophia King, Clarence King, Edith Jones, James Paul King, and Maynard King.
Surviving family include her children, Sharon Baird (and Dennis) of Pine Knot. Doug Musgrove (and Kathy) of Pine Knot, Don Musgrove (and Cyndi) of Goshen, Ohio, and Bill Musgrove (and Lisa) of Pine Knot, Kentucky; grandchildren, Audree Powell (and Andy), Miles Baird (and Heather), Daphane Merriman (and Mark), Douglas Musgrove, Ashley Musgrove (and Art), Jordon Musgrove, Will Musgrove (and Sherri), and Dillon Musgrove; great-grandchildren, Caleb Powell, Bradley Powell, Alyssa Keith, Peyton Keith, Farrah Ellis, Rieley King, BreckLyn Sewell-Baird, BecKett Sewell-Baird, Ana Merriman, Colton Musgrove, Brooklynn Musgrove, Khloe Jones, Avery Musgrove, Emmy Musgrove, Carter Musgrove, Willow Musgrove, and Wylie Musgrove; great-great-grandchildren, Ella Kennedy and Parker Powell; and one brother, Allen King, Jr.
Betty was a homemaker while her children were young, ensuring they had a strong upbringing. As her children aged, she worked at several places in the community sharing her love of cooking including the Dipsy Doodle, The Spot, Pinehurst Restaurant, Corner Cafe, and Stearns Elementary. She retired from Gary Anderson’s Grocery to again open her home as a caregiver, this time for her grandchildren.
Betty enjoyed cooking, gardening, shopping, but most of all she enjoyed being with and caring for family and friends. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took great pride in all they did. Betty’s home was always filled with the sounds of children and open to all her family and friends. She filled their bellies, warmed their hearts, and made sure everyone knew they were welcome.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Dewayne Perry officiating. Burial to follow in the Jones Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday after 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
