BILLY EVERETT SHELTON

Mr. Billy Everett Shelton, age 64, of Monticello passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at his home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 26, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sulfur Springs Church in Pine Knot with Bro Jeffrey Privett and Bro. Gary Jones officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time for services.  Burial will be at the Crabtree Cemetery in Wayne County.

Born on February 4, 1949 in Wayne County, Kentucky, to the late Everett Shelton and Derlie Meredith. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Marlene Prince, Willie (Noman) Shelton, Lorn Foster, Ed Ray Shelton and Laura Lee Phipps. 

Surviving family include his wife Patty Ann (Smith) Shelton of Monticello, two step-children; Sara Jones and Johnny Smith and three step-grandchildren.  He has five surviving brothers; David, Jethro, Sammy, Porter and Ronnie Shelton, two half brothers; George Foster and Fred (Booster) Shelton and a half sister; Maggie Meredith.

Billy was a farmer and had worked in sawmills.  He enjoyed hunting and the great outdoors.  He was of the Baptist faith.
