Bonnie Wandele Cox

Bonnie Wandele Cox, age 95 years, of Whitley City, Kentucky died June 7, 2017 at her home.

She was born February 8, 1922 in Hanging Rock, Ohio to Benjamin Harrison and Jennie Ethel (Gates) Bates.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Meadow Grove Baptist Church. Bonnie loved baking, grandkids, fishing, and gardening.

Her parents; husband, General Cox; daughters, Nancy Sharon Doyer and Bonnie Marie Wagner; brothers, George Allen Bates, Robert Lewis Bates, and William Douglas Bates; and sisters, Lillian Lang, Arminta Bates, Luella Ghrail, Katherine Conn, and Mildred Bates precede her in death.

Survivors include her son, Everett Jack Thompson; brothers, Forest Lee Bates, Benjamin Harrison Bates, Jr., and Henry Thomas Bates; sister, Avenell Edith Parrish; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and 15 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 1pm in the Chapel of the Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Brent Ford officiating. Burial to follow in the Pine Knot Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 6pm Friday at the funeral home.
