Carl "Buddy" Braxton King, Jr.

Carl Braxton “Buddy” King, Jr., age 69 years, of Revelo, Kentucky passed away May 14, 2020 at the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

He was born in McCreary County, Kentucky on September 22, 1950 the son of Carl King and Laura (Ross) King Whalen.  Buddy had worked in his garage King’s Garage in Strunk, Kentucky. He loved working, flowers, drag racing, car shows, the cabin in Gatlinburg, but most especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

His parents; brothers, Lewis West, Arville King, Arnold King, George West, Donald Gene King, and Ed Grundy; and sisters, Sharon West and Pernia Lewis precede him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Carla Burchfield of Strunk; sisters, Erna Lay of Stearns and Navada Haynes of Somerset; grandchildren, Trevin McCullough and Braxton McCullough; great grandchildren, Emmaline McCullough, Chevelle McCullough, Jacob McCullough, and Karla McCullough; a special nephew, Eddie Grundy; and many nieces and nephews.

A private family service was held on Monday, May 18, 2020 at 2:00 pm at the Jones Cemetery with Bro. Braxton King officiating.

Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
