Carl Lee Canada

Carl Lee Canada age 78 of Whitley City, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. 

He was born July 21, 1943 in Whitley City, Kentucky to the late Cleo Canada and Lois Mary (Bryant) Auel. In addition to his parents, Carl is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Emma (Garland) Canada; his companion, Betty Sue Perry; and sisters, Donna Middleton, Jenny Boisdert, and Shirley Jones. 

Surviving family include his son, Guy Daniel Canada (and Heather) of Whitley City; his daughters, Carla Sue Canada (and Roy Bryant) of Whitley City, and Mikayla Coffey (and Coleman) of Somerset; grandchildren, Kemisha Bryant (and Mario), Jacob Taylor, Donovan Buis (and Gabby), and Devon Buis; and great-grandchildren, Khloe, Trinidad, Treyson, Oakland, Mercedes, and a baby girl on the way. 

Also surviving are Carl's sisters, Deannie Sayler, Sharon Webber (and Mike), and Arleen Fleetwood (and Bruce); a great host of nieces and nephews; and his little dog, Scrappy, that he loved dearly. 

Carl was a long time member of the Sandhill United Baptist Church where he served as song leader and Sunday School Teacher.  He certainly enjoyed reading his bible, attending services, and witnessing to others. God was first above all things. Carl also enjoyed fishing and hunting. In an earlier life, Carl worked as a carpenter in past time, building log homes for Jim Barnes. He enjoyed working and providing for his family that he loved beyond compare. 

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Rufus Hughes and Bro. Ben Jones. Burial to follow in the Higginbotham Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday after 12:00 noon until service time. 

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with the remaining balance.
