CHARLES C. DAVIS

Charles C. Davis, age 75, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, November 28, 2013, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the Round Top United Baptist Church with burial to follow at the Davis Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time for services.

Mr. Davis was born May 24, 1938, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Clarence and Aline (Weber) Davis. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter Belinda Meadows, three brothers; Carroll Clarence Davis, Jack Davis and Ronald Davis and a sister Gloria Davis.

Surviving family include his wife, Kathleen (Seward) Davis of Strunk, a daughter Sabrina (and Clarence) Sturdivant of Laurel Hill, Florida, and sons Trent (and Stephanie) Davis, Bullard, Texas, Charlie Davis, Pine Knot, David Davis, Lexington, Mike (and Linda) Rose, Enterprise, Alabama and Billy (and Candi) Rose, Virginia. There are 26 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He has one brother Clarence Edward "Eddie" Davis who lives in Texas.

Charles had been an upholsterer for most of his career. He last worked for Tom Deweise Upholstery in Oneida, Tennessee. He graduated college with an Associate in Business degree and he served in the United States Air Force. He was an avid reader and had a good sized book collection. He especially liked Biblical literature. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He took pleasure in canning the abundant garden vegetables with his wife. He and Kathleen also enjoyed playing Mr. and Mrs. Clause for the community at Christmastime.
