CHARLES E STEPHENS

Chares E. Stephens, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed away Friday, June 6, 2014, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. William Kilby officiating.  Burial will be at the Privett Cemetery in Strunk.  Visitation will be Monday evening after 7:00 at the funeral Home. 

Mr. Stephens was born June 19, 1939, at Strunk, Kentucky, to the late Leslie and Mary (Thompson) Stephens.  He is also preceded in death by a daughter Brenda Rider, two brothers; James and Gary Stephens, three sisters; Ruby Hall, Wilma King, Barbara Kilby and an infant sister Lois Stephens.

Surviving family include his long time companion Betty Whalen of Strunk, a son Charles (Chuck) Stephens, Georgia, three daughters; Elaine Stephens, South Carolina, Marie Stephens, Georgia and Barbara Stephens, Georgia, a brother Louie Stephens, Georgia, and three sisters; Geneva Spradlin, Wartburg, Tennessee, Jeanette Kerlin, Georgia, and Kathy Brown, Strunk, Kentucky.  He had several grandchildren and several great grandchildren as well as nieces and nephews including a special niece Shonda Richardson.

Charles had been a truck driver all his life having last worked for Oneida Columbus Trucking Company.  He loved to fish and play horseshoes.
