Christie Nicole Lay

Christie Nicole Lay age 36 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Baptist Health of Louisville.

She was born on December 27, 1984 in Somerset, Kentucky to Gary Poynter and Lisa Lay.

Christie loved her family first and foremost. She loved and enjoyed rescuing animals and helping them get well. Christie also enjoyed going to the game room and being with friends. Above of all her hobbies, Christie loved being outdoors, camping, hiking, and anything with nature. She loved nature.

Surviving family include her parents, Gary and Lisa; her companion, Joey Dople; her sons, Joseph Austin Dople, Isiah Justin Dople, and Jeremiah Calvin Dople; and brothers, Greg Poynter (and Heather) and Austin Poytner.

Also surviving are a host of special aunts, Kathy McKay (and Charles), Pam Holcomb (and Jeff), Linda Stevens (and Mike), and Lavonna Marlow, special cousins, Chris Holcomb, Shawn Holcomb, and Michael Privett, and a very special mamaw, Violet Keeton, whom Christie considered as her 2nd mother

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Perry officiating. Burial is to follow in the Upper Cal Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday after 12:30 pm until service time at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with expense.
