Cynthia “Cindy” Moore age 56 of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at her home.

She was born January 4, 1963 in Oneida, Tennessee to the late Francis Angel and Gladys (Carter) Angel. In addition to her parents, Cindy is preceded in death by her brother, Oscar Angel, and her sister, Betty Kemplin.

Surviving family include her husband, Roger A. Moore whom she married, June 27, 1981; her loving daughter, Ashley Moore of Somerset, Kentucky; and special friends that Cindy loved dearly, Jerry & Zedra Sears, Becky Blakely, Becky Blevins, Linda Strunk, and Lynn Roberts.

Also surviving are Cindy’s brothers and sisters, Estil Angel of Pine Knot, Norman Angel (wife, Terri-Linn) of Stearns, Wanda Roberts of Pine Knot, Fay Jones (husband, Phillip) of Stearns, Imogene Thomas of Somerset, Emma Lou Secrest (husband, Al) of Corbin, Kentucky, Georgia Sroufe (husband, Bobby) of Somerset, Normalee Elam of Whitley City, and Dora Marlow (husband, Bob) also of Whitley City; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.

During her personal time, Cindy loved to be with her family and closest friends. She enjoyed being outdoors and traveling. Her favorite was camping and horseback riding with Roger and Ashley. Cindy also enjoyed gardening and collect antiques.  

Cindy loved life and was well known for her smiling, friendly face. She loved people and enjoyed nothing more than to make them smile. Cindy also loved children. She had worked several years with the McCreary County School System as a teacher’s aide and office personal for Pine Knot Elemenary and Intermediate School. She leaves behind many beloved staff members and friends.

Most importantly, Cindy was a member of the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God and was an inspiration to everyone she met. Above all things, she loved the Lord and spent her life serving him. Through the trials of her sickness, she always kept her faith and continued to thank the Lord for all he had given her. “She believed she could, so she did”.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. William Kilby and Bro. Harold Baird officiating. Burial to follow in the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday after 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
