CLAYTON LEE STEPHENS

Clayton Lee Stephens, age 61, departed this life on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at his home in Revelo, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 5, 2008, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. David Troxell officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Lower Hickory Grove Cemetery with military honors provided by the Kinne Slaven Post 115 of the American Legion.

Clayton was born March 31, 1947, in Revelo, Kentucky, to the late Estle and Maudie M. Daugherty Stephens. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Fayrene Shoopman and a nephew Timothy Mullins. Survivors include his daughter Renee Stephens of Pine Knot, two grandchildren Christopher Schell and Jerrica Stephens, his companion of 28 years Sandra Chitwood of Revelo, her daughters Linda Vickery of Winfield, Rhonda Taylor of Pine Knot, Teresa Rowe of Strunk, Pamela Shoopman of Revelo, Rita Neal of Pine Knot, Darlene Chitwood of Winfield, Shannon Chitwood of Revelo, Sonya Ball of Revelo, and Stacey Chitwood of Pine Knot, a sister Claudine Harris of Mt. Sterling, Ohio, lots of special family and friends including 21 of Sandra's grandchildren. Clayton had last worked as a logger for Garner Stephens, served his country in the Army during the Vietnam era and was a member of the Kinne Slaven Post 115 of the American Legion.
