Delmer George Martin

Delmer George Martin, age 60, of Pine Knot, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2015, at his home surrounded by family.

Delmer was born in Jellico, Tennessee, on December 28, 1954, the son of the late Lee and Christine (Lay) Martin. He enjoyed picking up cans, saving pennies, and most of all playing with his puppies.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Christine Martin; a brother Lloyd Martin (and wife Ellen) and his sister Bernice Stephens; two brothers-in-law Mike Dople and Doug Baird.

Survivors include sisters Rosalee Creekmore and husband Bobby, Bonnie Stephens and husband Lewis, Lena Ball and husband Billy, Linda Carol Kidd and husband Kenneth, Wilma Dople, and Paula Martin (and Bruce Hamlin); and brother-in-law Arvis Stephens. There is also are many nieces and nephews left to cherish his memory.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 22, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Bryant officiating. Burial was at the New Pleasant Run Cemetery.  Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
