DILLIE YVONNE WELLS

Ms. Dillie Yvonne Wells, age 76, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013, at her home.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. at the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God with Rev. William Kilby and Brother Harold Baird officiating. Burial will follow in the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday at Pine Knot Funeral Home.

Born in Strunk, Kentucky, on September 3, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Prince Ledford and Nancy Tavy (Richardson) Stephens. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years George Rondall Wells, as well as two brothers, Gaylon and Kelly Stephens.

Survivors include their only daughter Nihla King of Pine Knot, two grand daughters; Amanda (Kevin) Cox of Somerset, Kentucky, and Alanna King of Pine Knot, four great grandchildren; Blakely, Baylee, Reese, and Haiden, six sisters; Lillian Essie Johnson and Bonnie West both of Pine Knot, Reda Garland of Stearns, Betty McDavid of Burlington, Kentucky, Polly Spradlin of Lodi, Ohio, Myrtle Berding of Arkansas City, Kansas, two brothers Elvis Stephens of Hopewell, Virginia, and Gregory Stephens of Richland, Washington,

Ms. Wells worked 30 years for Cincinnati Bell. Upon retiring, she and her family moved back to McCreary County. In 1989, when the local Family Dollar opened, she worked part time for ten years. She has been a faithful member of East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God for 25 years where she enjoyed singing in the choir and assisting in vacation Bible school. She loved her church and church family dearly. In her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, writing poems/songs and genealogy. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandbabies.
