ELNORA JONES

Elnora Jones, age 74, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, July 17, 2010.

Private graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at Taylor Ridge Cemetery in Whitley City, Kentucky, with Bro. Earnie Jones officiating.

Ms. Jones was born April 30, 1936 in McCreary County to the late Earl and Martha Stephens Sumner. She is also preceded in death by her husband Silas M. Jones who passed away September 24, 1982, two sisters Thelma Gibbs and Nora Sumner and a brother Charlie Sumner.

Surviving family include a son Silas Jones of Whitley City, two daughters Ella Mae Strunk of Sidney, Ohio and Kathy Crisp of Stearns. She has four brothers, Bill Sumner of Columbus, Ohio, Jerry Sumner of Pine Knot, Claude Sumner of Pine Knot, and James Sumner of Whitley City. Joan Lyons of Whitley City is the only surviving sister. There are eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Ms. Jones had been a cook at the Cumberland Falls State Park's Dupont Lodge.

Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.
