EULA MAE STEPHENS

Ms. Eula Mae Stephens, age 76, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 13, 2012, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Stanley Taylor officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Jones Cemetery in Strunk. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until funeral service time.

Ms. Stephens was born on April 19, 1936 in Laurel County, Kentucky, to the late Claude and Ledia (Proffit) Belt. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Maynard Stephens whom she married October 18, 1976. Maynard passed away July 13, 2010. She is also preceded in death by siblings; Raymond, Henry, Ernest, Ruby, Betty Jo and Glenda Belt and Geneva Delph.

Surviving family include children; Wanda Kelly (and Joe) of Connersville, Indiana, Maynard Stephens Jr. (and Stephanie) of Strunk, Stacy Stephens (and Pat) of Strunk, Arlene Smith (and Jack Beasley) of Florida, and Morris Stephens (and Robin) of Winfield, Tennessee. Surviving brothers are Newt Belt of Cincinnati, Ohio and Edward Belt of Connersville, Indiana. Eula had 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Ms. Stephens had been a restaurant cook and was a member of the Gumfork Community Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors, camping, and her dogs. She loved going to church and listening to gospel music. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
