Faye Garland

Marla Faye Garland age 73 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at the Jean Waddle Care Center of Hospice of Lake Cumberland. 

She was born July 30, 1952 in Oneida, Tennessee to the late Leonard Ridner and Emma (King) Ridner. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Johnny William Garland; a son, Johnny William Garland Jr.; brothers, Graylon, Jimmy, and William Ridner; and sisters, Carolyn King and Marilyn Ridner. 

Surviving family include her son, Jimmy Garland of Pine Knot; a daughter, Tina Akers of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky; brothers, Johnny, Freddie, and Scotty all of Pine Knot; sisters, Retha Creekmore and Sherry Kidd, both of Pine Knot; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Ridner of Pine Knot; a special friend, Barb Taylor; and Faye's dog child, Valentine.

Also surviving are her grandchildren whom she loved so very much, Jayce Garland (and Leah) of Helenwood, Tennessee, Jacob Garland (and Ashton Sexton) of Stearns, and Kadance Garland (and James Yancey) of Stearns; and great-grandchildren, Amenadiel, Samael, Kinsley, Wayland, and Dawson Garland. 

Faye was a member of the Church of the Living God and had worked for OVC for over 11 years. Faye was most proud of being a homemaker and caring for her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed working puzzle books and reading. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held graveside on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Pine Knot Cemetery with Bro. David Burton officiating.
