Floyd R Stephens

Floyd Ray Stephens, age 69, of Strunk, Kentucky, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. 

Floyd was born November 21, 1945, in Hilltop, Kentucky, to the late Sidney and Elva (Heath) Stephens. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Bobby Jean Stephens Smith, and two brothers; Bud Stephens and Hack Stephens.

Surviving family include daughters; Lisa Stephens of Winfield, Tennessee, Misty Stephens, of Williamsburg, Kentucky, Christy Stephens of Winfield, Kimberly Stephens of Whitley City, Kentucky and Sandra Spradlin of Winfield, sons; Bobby Stephens of Whitley City, Ray Stephens of Evansville, Indiana and Ronnie Spradlin of Whitley City, seven grandchildren, brother Glenn Stephens of Sidney, Ohio,  and two sisters; Lorene Richardson of Sidney, Ohio and Wilma Criswell of Muncie, Indiana.

Floyd was self-employed in the used clothing business having operated several stores in McCreary County.  He enjoyed camping and four-wheeling in the mountains and horse-back riding. 

Funeral services were held Monday, at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home  with Bro. Dan Ridener officating.  Burial was at the Silerville Cemetery.    Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family of Floyd Stephens with funeral arrangements.

Hey Ray, this Barber Sue, that's what you always called me. I will miss you so much. We had a lot of good times together. Just remember the last time we were riding your scooter and tipped it over, HA! HA!, Two old (F@#ts ) that had no business on a scooter in the first place. I would like to thank you for all the help with my Mom in here last days. She Loved you so much Ray. I hope you are all together now laughing, cooking and having fun.

Ray, this is your sister Lorene ( the name you always used). I am next to you in birth order and we were close. Even though you were the baby, I was the baby girl with Dad's brown eyes. You may have got the left over moon pie from his dinner bucket, but I got the brown eyes.
I love you brother. Peace be with you. When you see "Sis" Hugs and love to her and all our loved ones that have gone before. We will have a big dinner when we all get together.

Uncle Ray, lets remember all the good times we shared. Not many people new you like your family, you were a good guy, a little crazy at times
but you had a great heart and would help when you could. Hope you are free from pain and resting at peace.
