Foster Lee Crabtree, age 71, of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, November 18, 2016, at the Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.


Born March 8, 1945, at Dean, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Jess and Evelyn (Cordell) Crabtree.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Betty (Odom) Crabtree, a sister, Reba Faye Keith and a brother Charles Marvin Crabtree.

Surviving family include three daughters: Sherry Lynn Crabtree (and Mike Stigall) of Bronston, Kentucky, Melissa Lee Spradlin (and Brian), of Whitley City, Nikki Dawn Perry (and Bandon) of Whitley City, two sons: Foster Curtis Crabtree (and Nikki) of Pine Knot, and Johnathan Lee Crabtree of Wisconsin, two brothers: Lewis Dean Crabtree of Oregon and Bobby Bishop (and Susie) of Erlanger, Kentucky, and a sister-in-law, Verna Crabtree of Strunk.  He has 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Foster was a truck driver for Oneida Columbus Express and he loved trucking.  He enjoyed fishing, dancing and listening to old country Gospel music.  He was a member of the City of Refuge Church and attended Quest Community Services.


Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2016, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Landon Sexton and Bro. Steve Stephens officiating.  Special music was by Steve Stephens and Israel Clark.  He was laid to rest at the Pine Knot Cemetery.  

Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family with funeral arrangements.

Foster was one of the good guys, i grew up with him he and my brother was good friends . my Husband and i went to Church with Foster at Mt Pleasant Baptist we will miss him but look forward to seeing him in Heaven one day To his children i say you can be proud of your dad, he was so proud of each and every one of you. Prayers foe GODS peace to all the family.

Deepest sympathy Sherri and family. I really liked Foster. I seen him when I would visit the Adult Day Health Care. He was always very nice. He will be missed.
