FRANCES LORENE GIBSON
Frances Lorene Gibson, passed from this life Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the Continue CARE Hospital at Baptist Health in Corbin, Kentucky. She had attained the age of 76 years, seven months and 18 days.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 15, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Harvey Logan and Rev Dennis Bryant officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Pine Knot Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Gibson was born October 24, 1937, in Monterey , Tennessee, to the late James Earl and Mary Lee ((Ray) Whitaker. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James Melvin Gibson, three sons; Larry Wayne Gibson, James Allen Gibson and Robert Lee Gibson and two sisters; Christine Farmer and Katherine Shoemate.
Surviving family include a son Gary Dean (and Debbie Ann) Gibson of Williamsburg, Kentucky, five daughters; Betty (and Joseph) Bradley of Anna, Ohio, Linda (and Richard) Fox of Corbin, Kentucky, Wilma (and Gary) Withrow of Cheshire, Ohio, Shirley Gibson of Sydney, Ohio, Carolyn (and Tim) Stephens of Pine Knot, Kentucky, three sisters; Pauline Level of Guthrie, Kentucky, Eva Jean Taylor of Clarksville Tennessee, Irene Hunter of Nashville, Tennessee, two brothers; Harold Dean Whitaker of Guthrie, Kentucky and Jerry Wayne Whitaker of Guthrie, Kentucky, 22 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gibson was a homemaker and member of the Hayes Creek Church of God. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts especially quilting and sewing. She like to go to yard sales and going to church. She took pleasure in doing church activities.
Lorene. was a great lady. loving mother, grand mother and friend. and she will be sadly missed. iv known her for year's she was always friendly and always had a smile. love you Lorene.

One fine Christian Lady. She reminded me so much of my mamaw Carmen. Sure going to miss her. Always had a smile on her face. I know Heaven is sweeter with Lorene there.

Lorene was a fine lady. I always enjoyed her when she came to the bank. She always had a smile for everyone. Praying God will comfort the family and know that she sure is smiling right now. How wonderful to know she is in the arms of God.
