Gail Nevels

January 21, 1945 — June 19, 2021

Gail Nevels age 76 of Whitley City, Kentucky passed from this life on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky. 

She was born January 21, 1945 in Greenwood, Kentucky to Levi Claude Davis and Gracie Lee (Corder) Davis.

Her parents, brothers, Paul Davis, Claude Davis, Jr., and Burton Davis, and sisters, Nellie Cash, Maxine Davis, and Geneva Brown precede her in death.

Surviving family include her husband, Charlie Litton Nevels, whom she married, September 11, 1965; a son, Jeff Nevels of Whitley City; daughters, Debbie Tucker of Whitley City and Missy Richardson of Stearns; and a sister, Jane Polston (and Richard) of Greenfield, Indiana. 

Also surviving are Gail's grandchildren that she loved so dearly, Chris Richardson (and Brittany), Amber Gregory (and Lucas), Whitney Sorensen (and Dustin), Kayla Moser (and Alex), Justin Richardson (and Chloe), and Elijah Tucker; and great-grandchildren, Preston, Alex, Eli, Sophia, Sam, Andrew, Autumn, Elizabeth, Easton, and Lily. 

Gail was a faithful member of the Freewill Baptist Church where she attended faithfully with her husband, Litton. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren. Gail also enjoyed working in the garden and with her flowers. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 21, 2021 at 7:30 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Boyd Rowe and Bro. Cody Canada officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday after 6:00 pm until service time. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Nevels Family Cemetery in Stearns, Kentucky. 

Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
