Geneva June Baird Duncan

Geneva June Baird Duncan age 95 of Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at her home. 

She was born June 22, 1930 in Strunk, Kentucky to the late Virgil Strunk and Dorothy (Trammell) Strunk. 

In addition to her parents, Geneva is preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Baird, her second husband, Robert "Bobby" Duncan; daughter, Nona Ball and husband, Roger; son-in-law, Darrell Taylor; daughter-in-law, Anna Baird; grandson, Gregory Bruce Baird; a brother, Troy Strunk; and a sister, Rose Mary Stephens and husband, Amon.

Surviving family include her sons, Gary Baird of Stearns, KY, Gordon Baird (and Regina) of Strunk, Larry Baird (and Pansy) of Strunk, and Wade Baird (and Thressa) of Strunk; daughter, Connie Taylor of Nancy, KY; a sister, Virginia Early (and George) of Indiana; and a sister-in-law, Fredia Strunk of Somerset.

Also surviving are grandchildren, Carrie Jones, Regina Hurd, Darren Ball, Sherri King, Tracy Taylor, Troy Baird, Joshua Baird, Sarah Slaven, Duston Baird, Debbie Pierce, Brandon Baird, Bradley Baird, and Kelli-Anne Baird; 31 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren. 

Geneva had been a member of the Hayes Creek Church of God since 1948 but in more recent years she had attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Second to being a servant for the Lord, Geneva was a homemaker who enjoyed nothing more than caring for her family. She liked to work in the garden, canning, cooking, sewing, and her flowers. Before his passing, Geneva also enjoyed attending church and singing with her husband, Elmer. The Bible teaches of "A Virtuous Woman", but to many this woman was simply called Mom, Grandma, or Geneva and although her physical presence on earth may be no more, her memory will live on through the hearts of the lives she touched. 

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Campbell and Bro. Bill Murphy officiating. Burial to follow in the Hayes Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday after 12:00 noon until service time.
