Gerald Wayne Kennedy

Gerald Wayne Kennedy age 68 of Nancy, Kentucky passed from this life on Saturday, June 27, 2026. He was formerly of McCreary County.

He was born on October 3, 1957 in Jellico, Tennessee to the late Ottis Kennedy and Beatrice (Helton) Kennedy.

In addition to his parents, Gerald is preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Kennedy; a son Brandon Charles Kennedy, a daughter, Amy Rose Kennedy, his sisters, Rita Garner, Pam Garland, Patricia Sue Jones, Brenda Vanover, Denise Bowman, Carol Procter, Debbie Conrad, and Becky Phillips.

Surviving family include his son, Ronald Wayne Kennedy (and Heidi); grandchildren, Harley Holder, Kalie Kennedy, Alissa Whitson, Breanna Cooper, and Cierra Back; and great-grandchildren, Aspen Holder, Tinsey Pennington, Aliah Pennington, and Iris Shannon.

Also surviving are brothers, John Kennedy (and Alicia), Anderson Kennedy (and Vicki), and Michael Kennedy (and Janice); and sisters, Elaine Tucker (and Doug), Janice Bell (and David), Sharon Shoffner, and Shelby Davis.

Gerald was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed spending his time with family, especially the grandchildren, going fishing, and working on cars. Gerald also liked listening to Southern Rock Music and taking time to read his bible. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Per his wishes, Gerald was cremated. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Mike King officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday after 1:00 pm until service time.
