Hazel Cox

Hazel Cox age 79 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at the Somerwoods Nursing Rehab Center in Somerset, Kentucky. 

She was born on July 31, 1946 to the late Robert Eagleton and Irene (Soloman) Eagleton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Lee Cox, and a son, Byron "Bear" Cox. 

Surviving family include her children, Charles Lynch, Donald Lynch, Kay Jarecki, and Carol Lynch; a sister, Carol Anderson; 11 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and other extended family whom Hazel loved. 

Hazel was a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and making handmade quilts and blankets. Hazel also enjoyed going camping and fishing. 

Per her wishes, Hazel was cremated. 

Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
