Hobert Lee Ball

Hobert Lee Ball age 94 of Pine Knot, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at the Beech Tree Manor in Jellico, Tennessee. 

He was born on September 19, 1931 in McCreary County, Kentucky to the late George Ball and Sadie (Stephens) Ball. 

In addition to his parents, Hobart is preceded in death by his first wife, Darlene (Roundtree) Ball; his second wife, Christine (Webb) Ball; brothers, Donald, Leon, Clem, Dean, Clemon, and Orville Ball; an infant brother, Benny Wayne Ball; and a sister, Wanda Ball. 

Surviving family include his brothers, Leland Ray Ball of Ohio and Michael Ball of Pine Knot; a sister, Mary Helen Ponder of Williamsburg; and several nieces and nephews. 

Hobart was of the Church of God Faith and was a Veteran of the United States Army. Having served his county during the Korean War. Like many, upon returning home, Hobart found work in manufacturing factories. In his spare time, his hobbies included being outdoors fishing and hunting, but Hobart also enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Moses officiating. Burial to follow in the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday after 12:00 noon until service time.
