Jackie L. Creekmore, better known as Jack, age 77 of Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at his home.
He was born on July 31, 1948 in Jellico Creek, Kentucky to the late Lewis Creekmore and Nevada (Webb) Creekmore.
In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Karen (Boyatt) Creekmore; brothers, R.D. Creekmore, C.B. Creekmore, W.M. Creekmore and Garry Wayne Creekmore; and sisters, Juanita Shelley, Rhoda Williams, and Betty Rose Trammell.
Surviving family include his son, Justin Creekmore (and Taylor Phillips); his daughter, Amber Madden (and Robert); sisters, Anna Ruth Baird, and Garcia Moore; and grandchildren, Jaxon Creekmore, Janalinn Phillips, Jaelee Phillips, and Avalyn Madden.
Jack was a member of the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God. He obtained a Master's Degree from the University of the Cumberlands and taught for the McCreary County School System for over 30 years. In his own time, he enjoyed going horseback riding, hunting, fishing, and gardening. When he wasn't outside, you would find him reading or doing leatherwork. Jack had many hobbies and interest to keep him busy, but he loved nothing more than being a papaw and taking care of his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God with Pastor Malachi Barnett and Bro. Harold Baird officiating. Burial to follow in the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday after 11:00 am until service time at the church.
