Jackie "Jack" Lee Stephens age 71 of Whitley City, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, February 14, 2020 at the U.T. Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.

He was born December 16, 1948 in Whitley City, Kentucky to Bill Stephens and Dorothy (Neal) Stephens. Jack had been a mechanic and school bus driver for the McCreary County School System for over 19 years. He was a member of the Son’s of the American Legion Post 115 of Stearns, Kentucky.

Jack is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy, brothers, Finley, Donald, Ray, Jim, and Thurman Whalen, and sisters, Sybil Ann Stephens and Alma Sue Koger.

Surviving family include his father, Bill Stephens of Pine Knot; longtime companion, Betty Bowman of Whitley City; sons, Jonathan Stephens (and Candace) of Whitley City and Stanley Stephens of Stearns, Kentucky; daughters, Dessie Stephens (and Frog) of Somerset, Kentucky, Jennifer Stephens of Tennessee, and Lisa Stephens of Stearns; a brother, Earl Whalen; sisters, Jean Jeffers (and Troy) of Oneida, Tennessee and Alene Trammell (and Roy) of Strunk, Kentucky; and several grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, February 17, 2020 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. David Burton and Bro. Harold Baird officiating. Burial to follow in the Holloway Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday after 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at the funeral home. 

Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
