James David West

Pine Knot, KY

James David West age 71, beloved husband of Bonnie (Stephens) West and oldest son of James M. and Betty West, passed from this life on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Unit in Somerset, Kentucky. 

David and Bonnie were united in marriage in March of 1973, having been married 52 years. 

Surviving family include his wife, Bonnie; brothers, Steve (wife, Vicki), Randy (wife, Lynn), and Scott (wife, Mickey); sisters, June, Tami, and Tonya (husband, Andy); many wonderful nieces and nephews; beloved aunt Beulah and dear uncles Wayne (wife, Deanna) and Charles (wife, Kim) West; and two special young people that helped and loved David, DeWayne Stephens and Jessie Ferrier. 

Preceding him in death were his parents and a son, Robert D. West and a grandson, Anderson Lee Ball. 

David was very talented. He loved woodworking and made many musical instruments and turkey calls. He was an EMT in prior years and loved helping people. He loved the Lord and was an ordained minister and member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. He will be sadly missed by dear friends and family members of the Stephens and West families. 

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at 3:30 pm at the Angel Cemetery with Bro. Steve West officiating. 

Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
