JAMES E. MOORE

September 21, 1936 — September 4, 2014

James E. Moore, age 77, of Somerset, Kentucky, formerly of Winfield, Tennessee, passed from this life on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Brian Crabtree officiating.  He will be laid to rest at the Crabtree Cemetery in Pine Knot.  Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00 noon until time for services.

James was born in McCreary County, Kentucky, on September 21, 1936, to the late Matt and Hazel (Spradlin) Moore.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by two step-sons; Anthony and Jason Crabtree, two brothers; George Moore Oda Mike Moore, and three sisters-in-law; Lorene Moore, Eva Moore and Shirley Moore and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Duncan.

Surviving family include his wife Elizabeth (Crabtree) Moore whom he married April 18, 1998, of Somerset, two sons; James Eric (and Kimberli) Moore of Somerset and Timothy Moore of Pine Knot, two step-sons; Jody Crabtree and Wade (and Becky) Crabtree, both of Winfield, brothers; Lendle Moore and Arnold Moore both of Pine Knot and Ronald (and Shirley) Moore of Lake City, Tennessee, and a sister; Martha (Moore) Duncan of Muncie, Indiana.  He has two grandchildren; Ryan and Chloe and three step grandchildren; Lane, Conner and Beronica. 

James was a boilermaker by trade and was a member of the Union 1 in Chicago, Illinois, He served his country in the US Army, he enjoyed traveling and  was an avid UK basketball fan.
