James Russell Nichols

Mr. James Russell Nichols, age 50, of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away March 15, 2015.

Russ was born December 24, 1964 in Cincinnati, Ohio to James Nichols & Betty Lue Hill Nichols Howell.  Preceding him in death are his brother Joseph Nichols, his grandparents Herman (Red) & Pearl Daugherty Hill, Harry & Hazel Nichols, Uncles Donald, Paul, Wendell & Roger Hill, special cousins, Veronica Hill,  Kimberly Hill Holden and Rebecca Hill Perry. 

Surviving family include his parents, Jimmy Nichols of Whitley Cy, KY, Betty Lue & Skip Howell of Cumberland Point, Kentucky, his brother Gary Howell of Cumberland Point, Kentucky, a very special God son Lucas, of Florida, his special Aunt Brenda Johnson of Cordele, GA, who loved him like one ofher own sons instead of a nephew.  A stepsister Jamie Nichols, stepbrothers James Jr. & Bryson Nichols with a host of cousins & friends left to mourn his passing.

Russ was very proud to be part of the Big Blue Nation and a big fan of the Kentucky Wildcats, no matter where he was at he never missed watching one of their games.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, most of all spending precious moments with his God son.  He knew and entrusted his life to the Lord in November of 1983.  He was a worker from the time he was old enough to work till he became disabled.  He was the sunshine of his mother’s life, who will mourn his passing till they meet again. 

Visitation will be March 20, 2015 at 3:00 PM with funeral services starting at 5:00 PM in the Pine Knot Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Willis Troxell officiating.  Burial will be at the Hill Cemetery in Strunk, KY.  Pine Knot Funeral Home is entrusted with the funeral arrangements for James Russell Nichols.
