James "Jim" Stephens

James Kevin “Jim” Stephens, age 54, of Pine Knot, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.  

Funeral service will be held Thursday July 30, 2015 at 8:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Pine Knot Funeral Home with the Bro. Dan Ridener and Honorable Doug Stephens officiating. Visitation will be Thursday July 30, 2015 after 6:00 pm at Pine Knot Funeral Home. In accordance with his wishes he will be cremated after the funeral.

Jim was born in McCreary County, Kentucky, on February 18, 1961, to the late Noah Stephens, Jr. and Sandy Boyatt Jackon. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his infant son James Ray Stephens.

Surviving family include his mother Fredia (Yancey) Stephens; a son Noah James Stephens of Johnson City, Tennessee; a daughter Harmony Glazier of Johnson City, Tennessee; a brother Anthony Leon Stephens (and wife Marilyn) of Pine Knot, a sister  Rhonda Ann Stephens also of Pine Knot, Kentucky; and a host of other friends and relatives.

Jim was a truck driver and labor until he became disabled. He enjoyed walking as many of you saw him do on a daily basis, old cars and motorcycles, music, horses, and trucking.
