James “Calvin” Stephens, age 70, Pine Knot., Kentucky, husband of Betty Joe (Phillips) Stephens, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family.
Calvin was born on August 9, 1949 in Pine Knot, Kentucky to Noah Stephens and Artie (Lay) Stephens. He was a truck driver who really enjoyed his job and was an avid pool player.
In addition to his parents, Noah and Artie Stephens, Calvin is also preceded in death by his brothers, Noah Stephens Jr., Clyde Abe Stephens, Claude Stephens and Dennis Stephens, and sisters, Rose Murphy, Orangilee Spradlin, Mary Helen Egner, Beulah Stephens and Blanch Stephens.
He is survived by his wife Betty Joe Phillips Stephens, sons, Michael and wife Amanda Stephens and Wayne Phillips both of Lake City, FL., sisters, Lois Reeves, Molly Thompson and Doris Perry all of Pine Knot, KY., grandchildren, Elie Stephens of Lake City, FL and Kinsey Stovall of Maurepas, LA. Calvin also leaves behind his special friends, Ronnie Wright, Walter Manning and Mike King.
In keeping of Calvin's wishes, an immediate graveside service followed his passing on Tuesday, at 4:00 pm at the Upper Cal Hill Cemetery with Bro. Doug Stephens officiating.
Pine Knot Funeral Home assisted the family of James Calvin Stephens.
