Joanne Mary Dean

Joanne Mary Dean, age 78, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on January 11, 1939, to the late Charles Edward and Anna Mary (Kelty) McKinney.  She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Joseph Mitchell Dean, a brother, Frank Thomas McKinney, and three sisters: Carol Jane Kholer, Jean Eva Harville and Mary Lou Taylor and her ex-husband, Robert Michael Dean.

Surviving family include two daughters: April Kautzman (husband Philip) of Fairfield, Ohio, and Pansy Dean Cress of Hamilton, Ohio, a sister: Peggy Gilreath (husband Charles) of Pine Knot, and two brothers: Charles Ronald McKinney of Loveland, Ohio and William Edward McKinney of Cincinnati, Ohio.  She has five grandchildren: Philip Michael Kautzman, Jillian Manion, Stephen William Kautzman, Chyanne Renee Cress, and Samantha Rose Cress and seven great grandchildren: Austin William Kautzman, Jayden Michael Kautzman, Makayla Manion, Lucas Manion, Hunter Michael Kautzman, Eli Stephen Kautzman and Jenna Skye Kautzman. 

Joanne had been a caretaker for the elderly and was a member of the Oak Grove United Baptist Church.  She was a writer of poems, loved reading the Bible and going to church.

She was a humble, devoted Christian whom everyone loved and whose memory they will cherish.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 10, 2017, at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. George Coffey and Bro. Rufus Hughes officiating.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until time for services.

Graveside services will be Monday at the Myers Cemetery in Goshen, Ohio.

Pine Knot Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
