John Watters

John Watters age 82 of Stearns, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the UK Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born on May 21, 1939 in Barthell, Kentucky to the late Henley Watters and Lillie (Ledbetter) Watters. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brothers: Goldman Watters, Simon Watters, Phillip Watters, Dakota “Cody” Watters, Brent Watters, Dallas Watters, Bobby Watters, Flenor Watters, Ronald Coleman Watters, and Jimmy Waters; sisters: Laura Watters Gregory and Corina Watters Levell; and a step-son, Dillard “Buster” Eldridge.

Surviving family include his wife, Rachel (Crabtree) Watters; his sons, Michael Watters and Stephen Watters (and Ronett) of Clear Water, Florida; grandchildren, Stephen, Levi, and Shelby Watters; step-children, Linda Wilson (and Ronnie) of Strunk, Bobby Eldridge (and Shannon) of Stearns, and Billy Eldridge (and Leslie) also of Stearns; brothers, Don Watters (and Charlotte) and David Watters (and Wilma) both of Daleville, Indiana; and a sister, Louise Watters Spradlin also of Daleville, Indiana.

John was a member of the Beech Grove United Baptist Church. He enjoyed singing for the Lord and sharing his word. He was also a member of the Orie S. Ware Lodge in Stearns, Kentucky for nearly 50 years. For fun, he enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson with his wife, Rachel. John was a carpenter by trade. He loved to do wood work and helping others. John was well known for his sense of humor and ability to always make others laugh. He truly enjoyed people and seeing them happy. John will be sadly missed.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 at 8:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral home with Bro. Jimmy Decker officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday after 6:00 pm until service time. John will be laid to rest in the Angel Point Memorial Gardens in Stearns.
