JOYCE BOYATT HOPKINS

Joyce D. Boyatt Hopkins, 66, died at 9:29 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2011 at IU Health Blackford Community Hospital. She was born in Stearns, Kentucky on May 24, 1945 to William Austin Boyatt and Evelyn (Watson) Boyatt. Both parents precede her in death. Joyce married Stephen M. Hopkins on May 29, 1983 in Muncie. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Eaton. Joyce will be sadly missed by her husband, Stephen M. Hopkins Sr. of Hartford City; son, Stephen M. Hopkins Jr. "Chip" of Hartford City; brothers, Earshel Boyatt of Muncie; William O. (wife, Charline) Boyatt of Farmland; Jimmy Boyatt of New Castle; Wayne A. (wife, Teri) Boyatt of Muncie; sister, Hester Spradlin of Lebanon, Tennessee; Lois (husband, Maynard) New of Stearns, Kentucky; Doris (husband, Denzi) Koger of Muncie; Helen Boyatt of Muncie; Delores "Dee" (husband, Steven) Taylor of Royerton; father-in-law, Franklin R. Hopkins of Hartford City; sister-in-laws, Maryanne (husband, Richard "Dick") Mills of Marion; Carolyn J. (husband, George) Kirkpatrick of Indianapolis; Marilyn J. Hopkins of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St. Hartford City. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 at Keplinger Funeral Home. Committal service for Joyce will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Sherd Dobbs Cemetery in Stearns, Kentucky.
