Karen Creekmore age 70 of Strunk, Kentucky passed from this life on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at the Baptist Health of Corbin.
She was born April 13, 1951 in Barthell, Kentucky to the late Harvey Boyatt and Flora (Tapley) Boyatt. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Linda Strunk.
Surviving family include her husband, Jack Creekmore whom she married, July 16, 1970; a daughter, Amber Madden (and Robert) of London, Kentucky; a son, Justin Creekmore of Strunk; a special grandson, Jaxon Creekmore; and a granddaughter on the way.
Karen graduated from Cumberland College with a Rank 1 and became a teacher for the McCreary County Board of Education, having devoted 36 years. Karen also ran “Karen’s Furniture” in Whitley City. She enjoyed crafting and making floral arrangements, shopping, and attending shows. Lately, she had took interest in hunting with her husband, Jack. Karen was a devoted wife, mother, and a grandmother. She loved nothing more than helping others, caring for her family, and being with her grandson, Jaxon. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the East Pine Knot Tabernacle Church of God with Pastor Malachi Barnett and Bro. Harold Baird officiating. Burial is to follow in the East Pine Knot Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday after 11:00 am until service time.
