KARMON BUTTRAM

Mr. Karmon Buttram, age 92, of Helenwood, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at the Oneida Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mr. Buttram was born in Scott County, Tennessee, on May 26, 1923, to the late Marion and Delphia (Chambers) Buttram.  Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Irene (Jeffers) Buttram, a son Ronnie Buttram, two daughters: Brenda Thompson and Debbie Overton, an infant son, and three grandchildren.

Surviving family include five sons: Ottis Buttram (wife Ina Gayle), Harold Buttram, Allen Buttram (wife Teresa), Randy Buttram (wife Debbie), all of Oneida, Tennessee, and Marvin Buttram (wife Wendy) of Helenwood, Tennessee, a daughter, Betty Newport (husband Donald) of New River, Tennessee, wife of Ronnie Buttram (Judy) of Oneida, Tennessee and 19 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, nine great-great grandchildren, and nine brothers and sisters.

Karmon had been a truck driver for the Scott County Road Department; he previously worked for Tibbals Flooring Company and was a coal miner for 25 years.  He enjoyed going to church and was proud to be saved and a child of God.

Graveside funeral services: 1100 a.m. Friday, December 11, 2015 at the Peaceful Rose Garden Cemetery at Paint Rock, Tennessee.
