KENNETH MAXEY

Mr. Kenneth Maxey, age 68, of Revelo, Kentucky, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at his home with his family by his side.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Ernest Dalton and Bro. Cyrus Byrd officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Ryan's Cemetery in Tennessee. The family will receive friends Friday from 6 a€" 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Maxey was a carpenter, building log homes. He was of the Church of God faith and read the Bible a lot. According to the family, there wasn't anything he couldn't do. He enjoyed working on cars and he liked animals. He was a very giving person and would give even when he seemingly didn't have.

He was born on February 10, 1943 in Winfield, Tennessee, the son of the late Charlie and Nora Bell Stephens Maxey. He is also preceded in death by a daughter Libby Bowling Worley, 14 brothers and sisters: Odell Maxey, Opal Thomas, Cleadus Starritt, Coleman Maxey, Edna Meadows, Imogene Stephens, Hoit Maxey, Luster Privett, Flonnie Burchfield, John Murphy, Hurstle Privett, Hazel Baker, Hoil Maxey, and an infant brother, Edgar.

Surviving family include his wife Margaret Dixon Bowling Maxey whom he married January 31, 1984, six children Charles (and Laura) Maxey of Strunk , Michael Maxey of Revelo, Peggy (and Donald) Daugherty of Strunk, Lena (and David) Lovett of Pine Knot, and Sam (and Lanita) Bowling of Oneida. There are 14 grandchildren: Creasha, Brandon, Nikki, Heather, Casey, Samantha B., Jennifer B., Jennifer M., Debbie, Sarah, Zack, Joe, Samantha M., and Jaelyn. There are 10 great grandchildren: Olivia, Alexis, Mason, Kameron, Raegan, Taylor, Kristen, Abbie, Victor and Abbie Ball. Surviving brothers and sisters are, Shirley Maxey, Zona Vee Lyons, Frona Sue and Bill Bryant, Helen Morgan Braden, Addelene Gregory and Willard and Shirley Maxey.
