LARRY WAYNE MOORE

May 10, 1950 — November 18, 2012

Larry Wayne Moore, age 62, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2012, at his home in Stearns.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Dow Goodin and Bro. John Goodin officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 noon until time for funeral services. Burial will be at the Upper Cal Hill Cemetery.

Having served both God and Country he was a minister of the Greenwood Missionary Baptist Church and was retired from the Army National Guard. He served during the Vietnam conflict and began preaching in Vietnam earning the nickname "Preacher". Larry was a cabinet maker having owned his own business. He was a songwriter, loved gospel music and owned all types of musical instruments. He also enjoyed coon hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Kinne Slaven Post 115 of the American Legion.

Larry was born on May 10, 1950, in Jellico, Tennessee, to Clarence and Julia (Stephens) Moore. He is preceded in death by his mother Julia Moore and a son Daniel Perry. Surviving family include his wife Brenda (Perry) Moore of Stearns whom he married May 27, 1993. He has a daughter Rebecca Dawn Snider of Stearns. His father is Clarence Moore (and Christine) of Pine Knot. His sisters are Donna Tuner (and Farrell) of Pine Knot, and Bridget New (and Steve) of Whitley City. Larry and Brenda have four grandchildren; Travis (and Lacy) Roberts, Rachel Roberts, Daniel Lee Perry and Matthew Lee Perry. His brothers and sisters-in law are Mitch and Margaret Perry and David and Linda Spangle.
