LAWRENCE STRUNK

Mr. Lawrence Strunk, age 69, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 11, 2007. He was at the Scott County Hospital in Oneida, Tennessee at the time.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. Clay Cook officiating. Special music will be provided by the Davis Hill Church of God Choir. He will be laid to rest in the Bethel Cemetery in Pine Knot. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 a€" 9:00 at the funeral home.

Lawrence had worked in the log woods for many years and was a member of the Davis Hill Church of God. He enjoyed farming and riding his big tractor and tinkering with other machinery. He cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren and listening to the music they played.

Born February 1, 1938, in Pine Knot, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Sampson and Ellen Caddell Strunk.. Also preceding him in death was an infant daughter, Brenda, and two brothers Earl and Lee Strunk.

Lawrence leaves behind his wife Dessie Bryant Strunk whom he married April 2, 1960, in Jellico Tennessee, and two children Roger (and Sophia) Strunk and Rhonda (and Jesse) Chitwood, all of Pine Knot. Lawrence and Dessie were blessed with four grandchildren Sampson and Paul Roger Strunk and Jesse Dean and Cody Ryan Chitwood.
