Ms. Linda King, age 76, of Pine Knot, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at the Williamsburg Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Linda was a homemaker and member of Pine Knot Southern Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking for her family and gardening.
She was born on Rock Creek in Fentress, Tennessee on December 27, 1939, to the late Claude and Lydia (Goodman) Crabtree. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands: L.D. Simpson and Mevelo King, one son Tommy Simpson, sisters Vera Walker, Stella Crabtree, Ruby Crabtree and Nellie Crabtree, and brothers: Claude Crabtree, Jr. Sam Crabtree, Charles Crabtree, Luther Crabtree, Sherman “Ted” Crabtree and Russell Crabtree.
Surviving family include her children: Danny Simpson (and Deletta) of Falmouth, Kentucky, Larry Simpson (and Teresa) of Pine Knot, Teresa Howard of Pine Knot, Mark Simpson (and Diana) of Winfield, Tennessee, grandchildren: Jarrad Simpson (and Angie) Dustin Simpson, Daniel Taylor (and Sasha), Gerald Simpson (and Tosha) Adam Simpson, Destiny Simpson, Aaron Howard (and Travannia), Shawn Simpson (and Melody) Charity Ellis (and Adam), Marcus Simpson (and Lacie), and Tequila Ellis (and William). Great grandchildren are Hailie Simpson, Aiden and Benson Taylor, Slade Simpson, Tammie and Braeleigh Howard, Madison, Kaleb and Logan Ellis, Elijah Simpson, Farrah and MaKenzie Ellis and Anya Simpson.
Surviving brother and sisters are: Clayton Crabtree (and Martha) of Frankfort, Kentucky, Jeanette Fulton of Dayton, Ohio, Janie Hamlin and Judy Crabtree of Pine Knot.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 31, 2016, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Rev. William Kilby officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Kingtown Cemetery. Her grandsons will be serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 6 – 9 p.m.
