He was born May 15, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Herman Jones and Ethel Marie (King) Jones. In addition to his parents, Louis is preceded in death by his brothers, Roy and Denvil Jones and an infant boy; and sisters, Carolyn King and an infant girl.
Surviving family include his wife, Sandra Kay "Sandy" Jones of Strunk; a son, Lendell Jones of Strunk; a daughter, Tracy Jones (and David) of Monticello; and grandchildren, Leah Marie Jones, Jordan Lee Jones, and Gabrielle Renee Jones.
Also surviving are brothers, William Jones (and Norma) of Springfield, Ohio, Don Jones, and Roy Roger Jones (and Jennifer) of Sevierville, Tennessee; a sister, Loretta Schmidth (and David) of Hamilton, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Louis was a member of the Kingtown Baptist Church. Before his battle with cancer slowed him down, Louis had worked as a Machinist, lastly for MC Corp in Oneida as a parts marker. As a hobby, he enjoyed woodworking and leather making. He was very talented and skilled. He made many purses, belts, and bags. Louis was also a family man, always enjoying spending time with those dear to him, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Willis Troxell officiating. Burial to follow in the Kingtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday after 11:00 am until service time.
