LURA ANN NEAL

Ms. Lura Ann (Baird) Neal passed away Friday, December 28, 2012, at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. she had attained the age of 99 years, 7 months and 9 days.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 31, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with Bro. Lance Lay, Bro. Ronnie Peters, Bro. William Murphy officiating. Burial will be at the Hayes Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 7:00 p.m. a€" 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was a member of Hayes Creek Church of God since she was eleven years of age. She was a devoted wife and mother, avid gardener and enjoyed canning vegetables for her family and friends and others that might have needed food.

Ms. Neal entered into this life on May 19, 1913, in McCreary County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Francis and Hannah Cornelius-Baird. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Hurstle Neal and daughter Loretta Neal, six brothers; Ray, Benny, Alonzo, Walter, Joe and James Baird and two sisters; Lavada Baird-Taylor and Mary Baird-Taylor.

Surviving family include two daughters Margel Neal-Wilson and Anna Rose Neal-Murphy (and husband William M.) and a son L.J. Neal (and wife Evelyn), two grandchildren, Anna Faye Neal-Murphy and Randall Neal (and wife Lisa), a great grandson Brandon Neal, two great great granddaughters, Avery and Mallory Neal of Omaha, NE, two special great nephews, Danny Neal (and wife Michelle) of Liberty Township, Ohio, and Jimmy Neal of Estero, Florida as well as a host of other family members and friends. She had a special bond with Cindy Gilreath, Pam Smith and Bertie Lovett who were her caregivers.
