Mary Alice Moses, age 86, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2026, at her home in Strunk, Kentucky.

Mary was born August 16, 1940, in Strunk, Kentucky, to the late Benjamin S. and Georgia Katherine (King) Anderson. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Ermon Moses, two sisters: Dana J. Wood and Patsy Ruth Anderson and a brother, Darrell Anderson, two nephews: Terry Wayne Anderson and Paul Jamison and a niece, Ruth Ann Jamison.

Surviving family includes two sisters: Delores Sue Young of Burnside, Kentucky, and Kaye Anderson of Winfield, Tennessee. Surviving nieces and nephews include Jeanette Jamison, David Jamison, Jetondia “Ton” Wood, Shannon D. Wood, Stephen Wood, Sherry R. Anderson, Dwight Anderson, Dwayne Anderson, Tabitha King, Melinda Cadle, and Dwayne Crabtree.

Mary had worked at the Department of Human Services (food stamp office) and had been a key punch operator in Hamilton, Ohio. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and painting (she had an art studio in her home). She loved playing music and singing. She and Ermon used to play and sing in churches everywhere.

She will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews, cousins and other relatives including the Anderson, King, Ryan, and Daugherty families and many friends and acquaintances too numerous to mention.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, September 11, 2026, in the chapel of Pine Knot Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Wood-Anderson Cemetery in Strunk.  The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 p.m. until time for services.
